Masthead background color experimentation

I was experimenting with Masthead/blog header background colors. I always thought to add some color to my blog as my blog had boring style. I had removed all background images as those was very heavy and very dark spread over whole of blog header. Images on background was very heavy for this theme so I have removed it for web site speed also. On shared server this kind of heavy images are not very suitable. User experience is paramount.

I am sharing the colors so that it can be helpful for those who what to experiment with background color. Though it is not useful for those who are a designer as I feel they may not need this silly help!

After so long (I ported the blog from blogspot in sep, 2009), I thought to add some color to my masthead as this is very empty without any color. I was only white all over. Every time I have tried a little bit using Firebug and quit without finally deciding about any color. So, this time I have compiled all the colors I have thought and researched. Here are all those compilation.
Color inside dark background is not all important at that time as I was not concentrating on that.

There was few more colors experimented but I have finally selected the above samples to consider for applying to my Web Development blog.
